nobody has time…
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009A family friend sent me a copy of this October 12, 2009 Cornershot clipping, written by Lindsey Nair, food editor of the Roanoke Times.
Nobody has time to garden. Thank goodness for the supermarket.
Nobody has time to actually cook a meal at home. Thank goodness for restaurants.
But who has time to sit down and enjoy a meal in a restaurant? So thank goodness for fast-food joints.
Nobody has time to mow the grass, so it’s a good thing we have lawn services. Squeezing in a workout? Who has the time? Thank goodness for diet pills.
Reading is wonderful, so we teach our children how to read. But nobody has the time to read anymore, so thank goodness for television.
Store-bought veggies cost more than grow-you-own. Restaurant food costs more than home-cooked meals. Lawn services cost more than mowing the lawn ourselves.
Diet pills cost more than taking a hike.
A television set costs more than a library membership.
Given all that, thank goodness we still have time to work.
